The process of composing this vastly variable score has been both the most fun and the most exhausting time I've had writing music so far. The DRAGON BALL Z episode in particular got a whopping 23 tracks—and even more raw cues—just for its two-hour of power, largely thanks to the acquisition of an authentic Alesis QS6.1, the same keyboard used on the Faulconer Productions Funimation score. But just as much love went into arranging some of my favorite video game themes from the HALO series, discovering the dark, atmospheric tone of the GREEN KNIGHT, and finding fun, ironic, iconicism within TWILIGHT and ER.
This was more than an artistic experience, and even more than exercise; it was a marathon.
Obviously I owe a lot of thanks to Travis Reaves, my very good pal and collaborator, who contributed a number of tracks to this score, not to mention an incredible performance across the source material alongside Jessica Dahlgren, Emily Ervolina, and David Michmerhuizen, all band members in a way, setting the emotional rhythm in motion, that turns into the tracks you hear here.
Whether it's for only one, or all of the above, I hope you enjoy your sonic crossing into THE TWILIGHT SPACE.
