The full original soundtrack to Pokémon Pen & Paper Version, a parody retelling of the classic GameBoy journey, taking place seven years after Red beat the Elite Four.
It took me a while to figure out the palette of this soundtrack. As with most things of reboot/revisit/remake nature, there needs to be a balance of originality while still respecting the source material. And Pokémon has such a massive iconic catalog of themes it was almost too daunting to attempt. Finding some way between the classic 8-Bit Chiptunes and the more modern orchestral arrangements was a challenge, but somehow post-rock guitar elements was the perfect glue for me. But on top of that, I knew that it couldn't be all Pokémon loops all the time. This story needed a bit of its own pulse. So I developed original themes that intertwine with the classics, bringing it to what is hopefully, a world that sounds fresh and lush. Equally unique and familiar. Old and New.
Needless to say, this ended up being one of the most rewarding and fun musical exercises of my life.
Here you'll find almost all of the cues as they were used throughout the score of the series, revisited, arranged, and mastered to flow as one continuous 5 hour album.
